Ratava
I have chosen the name “ratava” simply because it denotes the reversed word for avatar. An avatar, according to Wikipedia, implies a deliberate descent into mortal realms for special purposes (
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/avatar, 2005). On the other hand, the web definition of an avatar is simply a graphical image of a user intended to make the computing or network environment a friendlier place (
http://www.acad.bg/beginner/gnrt/appendix/glossary.html).
In my work, I tried to paint my avatar that suits the definition of both mentioned sources. I created this avatar with a special purpose. The concept, colors and as well as the design depict something abstract in me. At the same time, I put a part of my face to notice right away that “hey, it’s jun!”.
There are three parts of my face in the avatar, a small part, a medium part and a big part respectively. This symbolizes that different people look at me differently. Some only get to see a bigger part of me while leaving others just seeing a glance of who I am.
The red spots symbolize the path I take in life. I can start at any point and eventually leap to another until I connect all the dots and find my way back home.
By the way, the shades I wear means that if the right amount of light strikes it, you can definitely see my eye. For I believe that the eyes convey the strongest feelings of a person.
